I'm not a fan of rules when it comes to dressing; A Gentleman makes his own rules. I do personally have a couple of exceptions, one of which being the wearing of a watch.
The Billionaire playboy Gianni Agnelli, former Fiat Chairman and general all-around badass wore his watch on the outside of his shirtsleeve, because he could. It was his thing. This guy was so dapper even his shadow got nominated for a 'best dressed man' award.
Unless you're a Billionaire playboy the looks a tough one to pull off without looking like you're trying too hard to emulate the look.
It goes on your left wrist flush to your skin. Simple.
