Last of the International Playboys

Gunter Sachs. Millionaire, Playboy, Sportsman, Photographer, and a Gentleman. Famous for 'never having worked a day in his life'.

Married 3 times, Brigitte Bardot was his 2nd wife. The courtship was that of legend; he flew a helicopter over her villa on the French Riviera showering it with hundreds of red roses. The couple married shortly after.

Friends with Andy Warhol, Gunter staged the first ever major exhibition of his work in Europe, at his own gallery in Hamburg.

When not a single picture sold on the first night, Sachs secretly purchased half of the works himself to save the blushes of Warhol.

Gunter Sachs took his own life on 7th of May 2011 aged 78. He orchestrated his own death with a shotgun. The note he left stated he took the action due to "A hopeless illness A" (widely speculated to be Alzheimer's). He added "The loss of mental control over my life was an undignified condition, which I decided to counter decisively".

The man had charisma, style, manners, good looks, charm, a lust for life (as well as the ladies); and dignity. The man was a Gentleman.
